About Albania
Albania is one of those rare gems: it´s got it all and nobody seems to know about it! It has tons of history, Greek excavations, world heritage sites, towns that don´t seem to have changed much since Ottoman days, medieval mosques.
Also, it´s dead cheap. Especially on the coast, at what is known as the Albanian Riviera, if you compare the prices to other beach resorts in Italy or France, you´ll be amazed. An average hotel room in Albania will set you back between 20-50 euros. Yep, that´s very, very cheap! Food, drinks and transport will also fit very comfortably within your budget.
Albania is catching up quickly with the rest of Europe, but the hotels are generally quite basic. Clean, comfortable, but don´t expect wifi or even for anyone to speak English. Then again, the same can be said for loads of places in Italy and France!
